hi here is the thing...

• 1. he needs permanent residence to be here. to obtain it..
  a. he needs the employer in germany to give a letter.
  b. health insurance
  c. and US passport.
  
  another way is if he marries you. if he does he is good to receive residency here.
  
  becareful in germany..many have no idea of the laws so do your search and ask as much questions as possible
