Entering EU with B Permit only?

• Hi there all, I have a question,
  
  I am a South African who needs a schengen visa to enter either of the EU countries.
  
  I heard that with the new legislation, it will be easier to get into the EU countries, even for day trips with just the B Permit.
  
  I currently have a B Permit and need a visa to enter the EU counties.
  
  It is quite desturbing, seeing I have a B Permit here but still am not able to use it to enter the EU
  
  If anyone knows anything to help me, It woudl be great.

• B Permit and Schengen Zone

  Starting from 10th of July 2006, you will be able to visit any country in the Schengen zone with your B permit for stays up to 5 days only. You can not exceed 5 days without a schengen visa.
