English language requirements fo College

Are all Canadian colleges strict in their english language requirement for college? When I applied for permanet residency, i did not think that i will be needing to go back to school so I only took the GENERAL IELTS EXAM. I got high marks in all bands and my over-all band score is 7.5. Now, do i have to take the ACADEMIC IELTS if I want to enrol in college? Aren't there any other way not to take IELTS again?
