International schools in Kazakhstan

You can find international schools in Kazakhstan for all ages, offering both British and American curriculums. Classes are usually taught with English as the first language, making the transition into a school in Kazakhstan relatively simple.

Many international schools in Kazakhstan will offer the International Baccalaureate (IB), an internationally accredited diploma. This is ideal for expats, as children can remain on the same programme even if you move again, and are prepared for university applications anywhere in the world.

As with any private education system, the international schools in Kazakhstan are quite a bit more expensive than the state-system (especially considering state-school is free up to a certain age). Class sizes are smaller, facilities are better, and the standard of education is also generally better. That’s not to say, however, that public education in Kazakhstan is necessarily poor. In 2013 the education system was ranked at 70th  in the world by the UN education index.

It is worth noting that while the small class sizes are a benefit for students, priority for applying students if often based on nationality.
