Citizenship and immigration Canada

• It has been over 16 months from the time that I sent my citizenship application. I have lived in Canada for over eight years now and I cannot believe that this process takes so long.
  
  Anybody suggest anything on how to proceed? It has taken for ever! and I do not even know if my application is alive.
