ANCE (Agence pour la Création d'Entreprise) = state agency for business creation
Ancienneté = number of years worked in the company
Année sabbatique = sabbatical year
APEC (Agence pour l'Emploi de Cadres) = the French national agency for employment of professionals and executives
Arrêt de travail pour maladie = Sick leave
Bulletin de paie = payslip
CCI = Chambers of Commerce and Industry
CDD (Contrat à durée déterminée) = fixed length contract
CDI (Contrat à durée indéterminée) = indefinite contract
CFE (Centre de Formalités des Entreprises) = national agency for assiting company creation
Commerçant = trader
Congé de maternité = Maternity leave
Congé de paternité = Paternity leave
Congés annuels = Annual leaves
Convention de stage = work experience contract
CRDS = part obligatory social charges (Social security repayment contribution)
CSG = part obligatory social charges (Supplementary contribution in aid of the underprivileged)
Démission = resignation
EURL (Entreprise Unipersonnelle à Responsabilité Limité) = one-partner limited liability company
IE (Entreprise individuelle) = One-Man Business
Licenciement = employment contract termination
Licenciement pour motif économique = Dismissal for economic reasons
Licenciement pour motif personnel = Dismissal for personal reasons
PME (Petit out Moyen Entreprise) = Small or Medium sized Enterprise (SME)
Pole Emploi = the French national agency for employment
Profession libérale = Freelance
RTT (Réduction du Temps de Travail) = working hours reduction programme
SA (Société Anonyme) = Business Corporation
Salaire = salary
SARL ( Société à Responsabilité Limitée) = Limited Liability Company
SAS (Société par Actions Simplifiée) = business corporation for 2 to 7 shareholders
SASU (Société par actions simplifiée unipersonnelle) = single shareholder business corporation
SMIC = minimum guaranteed wage
SNC (Société en Nom Collectif) = Partnership structure
